OKATAKYIE BOAKYE DANQUAH ABABIO (A.K.A - ISAAC EMMIL OSEI-BONSU) - Honorary Consul

Okatakyie Boakye Danquah Ababio (A.K.A - Isaac Emmil Osei-Bonsu) is a distinguished Ghanaian lawyer marking three decades at the Bar, recognised for his leadership in complex commercial transactions, corporate structuring, and high-value financial arrangements. As Managing Partner of Minkah-Premo, Osei-Bonsu, Bruce-Cathline Partners (MPOBB), he leads a premier law practice at the forefront of Ghana’s legal and business landscape.

His practice is centered on commercial law, real estate, and strategic advisory to financial institutions. Over the course of his career, he has advised on multi-million-dollar financing arrangements and the structuring and establishment of major business ventures in Ghana. His work spans key sectors of the economy, including finance, telecommunications, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and consumer markets, acting for leading indigenous enterprises and blue-chip multinational corporations.

He is widely recognised as a trusted adviser on high-stakes and commercially sensitive matters, particularly where transactions demand precision in structuring, clarity in risk allocation, and strategic foresight. Okatakyie brings to his practice a rare combination of technical rigour and commercial judgement, enabling him to navigate complex negotiations and deliver outcomes that are both legally sound and commercially decisive.

His expertise extends into corporate governance, where he serves on the boards of local and international companies. In this capacity, he advises on governance architecture, regulatory compliance, and institutional strategy, contributing to the long-term stability and growth of the organizations he supports.

His professional career is further distinguished by his role as Honorary Consul of Jamaica to Ghana, through which he promotes bilateral engagement in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. This diplomatic function reflects a broader commitment to international cooperation and cross-border commercial connectivity.

He was called to the Bar in 1996 following his professional training at the Ghana Law School, after obtaining his LLB (Hons) from the University of Ghana. He also holds an Executive MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.

Beyond his legal and corporate work, he holds the stool of Twafohene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area under the stool name, Okatakyie Boakye Danquah Ababio, a position of enduring historical significance which he inherits in succession to Dr. J. B. Danquah, widely regarded as one of the foremost legal minds Africa has produced.

He maintains a sustained dedication to philanthropic initiatives directed at community development and social welfare. His contributions in this regard have attracted recognition within ecclesiastical circles, including acknowledgement by the Anglican Church for his role in advancing socially responsive interventions.

He is a devoted family man and an avid golfer, bringing to both the same discipline and balance that define his professional life.
