On 17 February 2026, the Honorary Consul of Jamaica to Ghana, Okatakyie Boakye Danquah Ababio, received a courtesy call from Mr. Osama Makkawi Khogali, Representative of the UNICEF Ghana Country Office.

The meeting focused on fostering deeper south–south cooperation between Ghana and Jamaica, with particular emphasis on education and child-rights programming. Discussions highlighted UNICEF Ghana’s impactful initiatives — including differentiated learning, play-based teaching, and teacher training — and explored how these models could support Jamaican education.

The visit concluded on a cordial note, with the Honorary Consul presenting Mr. Khogali with a Jamaica friendship pin, symbolizing continued goodwill and strengthened collaboration between Jamaica and UNICEF Ghana.
